City DNA by Lu Xinjian

I seldom do re-post but this piece caught my eye. The pattern was crazy and intricate so I was stunted to read the below info:
“Artist Lu Xinjian creates meticulously painted aerial views of cities on Google Earth––including New York, Beijing, Munich, Antwerp, Athens, Basel, and Los Angeles.” Lu paints abstract pattern from views of the cities. Stencils are made from using Adobe Illustrator and a cutting plotter, and Lu chooses the colors of each work based on the cities’ national flags.
